In Animal & AgriFood Research, there is an open policy regarding publication fees. An Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 500 is charged for each accepted manuscript for the editorial, peer review, production and online publication.

What Does the APC Cover?
The Article Processing Charge is used to cover the many activities required to get an accepted manuscript to publication, such as:
- Editorial and manuscript processing
- Peer review coordination
- Copyediting and article preparation
- Online publication
- Website and publishing infrastructure
- Maintenance and accessibility of published articles

Editorial Independence
APC payment has no effect on the editorial or peer review process. Each manuscript is judged individually for its quality, originality, relevance and adherence to journal standards.
